The serious fish, however, are not at the Attol but are 28NM away on a number of pinnacles which come up on the Hau Bank and Jacqar Seamount. We have plotted some unbelievable spots as shallow as 60 metres and definitely not child's play. You better come prepared as GT's of 70kg, tuna of over 100kg and dogs over 100kg are common. Island Adventure Charters has been in the industry since 2006 providing charters with a solid track record. We can now offer our new vessel to the fleet “Pelagic 2” – a brand new motor sailing catamaran. With years of experience we know what is essential for the angler and for the diver and thus we have built a special boat to cover these requests we have had over the years. Our vessel is a new concept 45ft Island Spirit Motor yacht with a top speed of 19 knots. Cruising is done at 9 knots. Now your trip to Bassas da India is shorter, unlike other traditional sailing yachts. The yacht has outriggers and a marlin chair for fishing. Other yacht’s have dinghy’s in the way and no platform and are very slow and cramped. Our platform is 7 metres wide and protrudes out 2 metres. It is only 300 mm from the waters surface on the scoops. It has two fish boxes, or dive boxes, for your catch. Divers look at the loading platform, what more can you ask for? We carry our own compressor and we carry a 40 hp 4.5m, semi rigid inflatable. She is a purpose built boat with importance on lots of ice, braai, deep freezer space, hot showers, large airy cabins, very fast and a great platform to work from with the best chef in the industry on board.
